Drupal is a community project and has board members that are elected by the community. 13 candidates have put themselves forward for consideration of 2 slots, and it looks like our very own Matthew Tift has stepped forward.
The candidates are listed at https://association.drupal.org/election/3/candidates and there are times to meet all the candidates posted at https://association.drupal.org/node/18443. I was looking through them when I spotted our very own Matthew Tift as one of the candidates: https://association.drupal.org/election-candidate/68.
Matthew is an excellent fellow, a smart guy and he has a strong track record of doing good things for our community - both regionally as well as for the larger Drupal world. He's been a big part of all three of our pretty awesome DrupalCamp Twin Cities teams and was our overall lead for the very first one - which was a pretty incredible success right out of the gate.
Anyways - most of you already know Matthew. I'm really very happy to seem him running for the DA. If you know him, I imagine you're likewise happy to see him step forward. If not, I'll recommend him as an excellent human being with really strong community credentials.
Whatever you do, take some time to get to know the candidates, be informed and vote when the time comes. Be sure to give Matthew a little extra consideration. I know I will.

I'd just like to add that Matthew has been a godsend for the Drupal 8 configuration management initiative.

Another Plus for Matthew Tift
I just found the listing for Matthew as a candidate for the Drupal Association, and was going to post this exact same information.
Matthew has demonstrated his leadership in the past as chair of the Twin Cities Drupal Camp. His committment to the Drupal Association would a valuable resource for all of us.
I didn't see any info about voting, but follow Drew's links and get to know the candidates.

I've known Matthew for a number of years of Wisconsin Drupal Camp and the Twin Citites Drupal Camp. He would be an excellent camp.
