Hi everyone,

I've got an IT degree and some experience of updating Websites using CMSs. I've also got a working knowledge of HTML and PHP. Also, I've got three years' sales experience. I'm new to Drupal but I've been to a couple of the Drupal meetings/days in Sydney. I love Drupal and Drupallers. So, I'm keen to have a career in Drupal Web development. Involvement in online/mobile/social media and advertising would be brilliant too. If anyone can offer me relevant work experience to help me get started, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks very much,

Stephen

While you're waiting...

... this might sound obvious (and apologies if you already have this idea) but while you're waiting there are a couple of things to do that will increase your chances of getting a job:

  1. Create some sort of useful Drupal site as a showcase for your talents. Create a few different sites of differing varieties perhaps (online community, online business/store, informational only, etc.)? Create a portfolio to show these off.
  2. Have a look through drupal.org, adopt an orphan project (or two... or more) or help out with bug tracking in the core or module issue queues.

Both the above will not only help hone your skills and learn a lot about Drupal but also give potential employers/clients something to look at if they are thinking of hiring you.
