I'm really bummed I missed the meet up. I have generally used WordPress, but am moving toward Drupal as well now.
I'm am in the throws of learning how Drupal works, designing a custom theme, incorporating the modules, etc. Everything Drupal.
I'm looking for a "Drupal Buddy". Anyone interested? Let me know and I'll send you my IM info.

I'm sorry you missed it too.
You could drop me a contact with your im information and I'll add you, though I don't have a ton of time to spend on IM I'd be happy to chat occasionally. Really irc is the best way to go for things like that. I recently wrote about integrating with the Drupal code and the community for a seasoned professional which seems like it would be valuable for you.
If you edit your subscription and set it to send you mails then you'll be sure to know about future meetings.
It seems that at every meeting there are a few people looking to be hired and a few folks looking to hire. The folks looking to be hired are usually not current Drupal professionals, but just looking to learn new skills in the hopes of gaining employment. If you are willing to train folks you may be able to find someone.
