User group meeting
This Users Group meeting is Thursday, Feb 5 at 2pm in ISB 145.
Meetings are open to anyone interested in Drupal and not limited to the UMass Amherst community. Bring problems, questions and ideas. Offers to make presentations are welcome.
Meet at the UMass Integrated Sciences Building (ISB) (See map here.
Room 145 is a meeting room near the elevators on the first floor.
Regular meetings for the UMass Amherst Drupal Users Group are the first Thursday of the month.

February 5, 2015 meeting notes:
Who was there: Steve Brewer, Gail Parsloe, Matt Mattingly, Gary Parker, Heather Ockington, Rachel Danto, Bram Moreinis, Joanne Patalano (chaired)
• Steve said he’s done chairing. Joanne stepped in and chaired. Thank you Steve for all your time chairing! and for your support to the new chairs.
• Bram’s project announcement: Bram is looking for a developer related to this site: http://flexpd.educollaborators.com/. Contact Bram if interested. See https://groups.drupal.org/node/454068#comment-1084858
• Steve talked about the National Day of Civic Hacking that will be held on 6/6/15. Steve will be organizing things at the upcoming 2/13/15 meeting at Amherst media. Contact Steve if you want to help and/or join the organizer’s google group, h4wm-organizers.
• Matt plugged the project management meetup group organized by Kelly of last call media. Next one is Feb 11. See https://groups.drupal.org/node/452948 for details.
• Discussed security of using drupal for sites with sensitive information.
• Video (Matt) discussed site http://www.umass.edu/safefoodfarm2kid/ - looking for better ways to stream video
• Discussed using drupal for calculation functionality
• Discussed using drush on vm with DAMP which led into discussion about vagrant.
• Discussed profile 2 module and how it plays into field permissions, roles and users.
• Gail talked about her project and was looking for ideas about emailing a group about an event. Modules suggested: simple news, mass_contact, sign-up. Or use a mailing list service including one available at umass. See https://www.it.umass.edu/email/mailing-lists
• Steve mentioned the Elms Course Info System https://www.drupal.org/project/cis
• March 5 Meeting Ideas: Present on drupal 8 site (maybe Kelly would like to since their site is D8) and on Elms.
