This month, Tim Whitney is doing a deep dive into vampd (http://github.com/vampd/vampd). Anyone who is interested in getting a local development environment up and running quickly and easily would benefit from this talk.
Vampd is a Vagrant Chef Drupal machine that looks to ease the setup of local development by providing nice defaults and friendly extensions that automate all facets of spinning up a Drupal site. Further vampd has a yeoman generator that helps take the guess work out of generating the json config files for the chef recipes. Through these tools and some cookbooks, vampd hopes to get developers spun up as individuals and teams quickly and consistently, removing the guess work from machine to machine, bash-script to bash-script.
The talk will walk through the different capabilities of vampd and the yeoman generator while providing a insight into how this can help teams create more stable sites and code.
Following the Meetup, we'll head a short walk away to Interstate Kitchen & Bar for more socializing.

There is a good chance it
There is a good chance it will be streamed. It depends if there are volunteers here at OMF to crew the meetup. If it is streaming, it should be live here: https://www.denveropenmedia.org/channel-56-live-stream
