Hello everyone,
I work at Epicodus, a school for people who want to become developers. We're starting a new class on PHP, JavaScript, and Drupal! We've talked to a lot of employers in town and know how hard it is to hire Drupal talent, so we're trying to fill that need.
If you (or somebody you know) is interested in becoming a developer and learning Drupal, drop me a line! Also check out epicodus.com.
If you are interested in hiring junior Drupal developers, and/or participating in our internship program, email me as well.
More info:
This is a full-time class, 9am-5pm Mon-Fri; it starts March 2 and goes for 15 weeks, plus a 2 month internship. You don't need any prior education or experience, but we expect you to try out programming basics on your own before applying. You can visit the classroom during our drop-in hours every first Tuesday of the month from 5:30-6:30pm, at 208 SW 5th Ave #105 Portland, OR 97204.
Email me if you have any questions at all!

who are they
Hi jenmccarthy,
Would you please introduce us to the other Epicodus staff members? Provide their Drupal username so their Drupal-specific background can be assessed? Also, would you please detail their teaching qualifications? In my experience, being a great teacher can be as important as being a great developer.
Re: who are they
Hi Ken! I'm Michael, the founder of Epicodus.
I totally agree - being a great teacher is just as important as being a great developer. In fact, I've found that junior-level developers are usually better at teaching beginner-oriented classes: they still remember what it was like to not understand all of the concepts, and that empathy gives them the patience and perspective beginners need.
In fact, all Epicodus teachers are actually Epicodus graduates. It's worked out really well: our students have amazing things to say about their teachers. Local companies are happy with the quality of our graduates, too: so far, about 97% of our graduates have found work within 3 months, and many employers have come back to us to hire more of our graduates.
Putting together this PHP and Drupal course is new for us, so we've been leaning heavily on advice from developers at Metal Toad, especially danlinn and grendzy. We'll be posting our curriculum online in the next few weeks.
Let me know if you have any other questions!!!
