I see we have had a number of new people, so I would like to talk about this group.
The games and game apis group is not at all about finding games and that sort of stuff. We are all about building our own game from the ground up. This group is mainly about the code and the design of the code, not whether to have an unlimited amout of ammo in the tutorial or not. Currently, we inhibit only one project on drupal.org, mapapi. That was mostly programmed by myself (dmitrig01) and litwol. We talk in #drupal-games about the design and code, and you are welcome to join us.
Also, I would like it if people introduced themselves, because that gives this group a nice sense of community
Hope this clarifies,
--dmitrig01, starter of the group

Hi everyone...
I see I am in the right place ;-) Hi dmitrig01! We are an agency in Germany using Drupal to its near limits on various promotional web sites. - BTW, anyone in or around Munich who is freelancing and feels right in this group as well, could you drop us a line?! We're looking for people on a more regular basis that are within reach for project assignments... we're currently planning / working on actually a couple of promotion web sites that include any sorts of flash based games, user points, high scores, user-generated content stuff with voting, rewarded by points, and also some Google Maps and Flickr mashups built into games and content.

i fail to see how this
i fail to see how this advertisement is about making games powered by drupal. i am reluctant to use my moderator powers to remove that post. i am seeing an advise from anyone willing to give one.

Hi all
I am Amanuel and I am a drupalholic.
I have been amazed and privileged to watch Drupal grow from a baby CMS to a powerful platform. While I have very little time to be active these days, I will continue to watch and help where I can. I would have never imagined that we would be building games on Drupal...but here we are.
Cheers everyone.
Amanuel
Games
Hello all,
I'm trying to get a handle on what exactly Drupal Games/RPG will do.
My vision, that I've been trying to do for some time with little success, is to create a place like RPOL. Meaning people who want to run online RPGs can register, create their game, and advertise their game and invite people.
Each game would be separate and distinct from every other game, it's own little fiefdom, so to speak. The person who created the game would have more or less absolute control over their game to the point where they can create forums, topics (and moderate same), make private forums/topics, create groups within the game (parties ALWAYS split up), private and public messaging within the game, etc, etc...
Is this in line with the goal of DrupalRPG?
Thanks!
Steel Rat
not quite. the point of this
not quite.
the point of this group is to build games, not to run them here. after the game is built you can run it on your own host.

Well I figured that. I was
Well I figured that. I was just wondering what the goal of the project was, not the web site.
Well...
My opinion... that could work... but I have to admit I would love to have the ability to build my game from scratch (putting the modules I think would work best for that game together) laying out the look for it, and defining everything from avatars to how much xp does a character gain for killing given monster...
About the current project... I really don't know what are they doing...
But I would love to hear from them... =X
hi!
I feel confortable here.. just reading about the diferent topics.. :)
