We in the NH Drupal group would like to announce NHDevDays, a series of code sprints to be held throughout NH during 2015.
NHDevDays
In lieu of a DrupalCamp, the NH Drupal group organizers have decided to run a series of code sprints throughout 2015. Each code sprint will be a single day dedicated to both helping newcomers learn the steps involved in contributing to one of today’s largest open source projects, and a venue for existing contributors to help others and collaborate in person.
NHDevDays #1 - Keene
The first NHDevDays code sprint, a free event, will be in Keene, NH on April 25th. Starting at 9am we will guide beginners through the initial rungs of the Drupal Ladder (http://drupalladder.org), helping them get their computers ready, and then show them through how to use the Drupal issue queues. After lunch we’ll help attendees find issues to work on that pique their interest, and we’ll continue to be available throughout the day for assistance.
Members of the community who are already versed in contributing are encouraged to join us in the morning and get stuck in - we will have plenty of space for people to work on their tasks of choice, and we’ll always be able to help find more.
Code of Conduct
In order to keep everything running smoothly, and both help avoid and resolve any conflicts that arise, the event will be using the standard Drupalcon Code of Conduct. Several of the organizers will be available to aid in resolving any issues that may arise.
Location & Facilities
The Hannah Grimes Center in downtown Keene is the area’s premier business center and incubator. In the Fall of 2014 they completed a major upgrade to their location, which is now completely wheelchair accessible and received an equipment upgrade. We will have use of a large room on the upstairs floor that can seat roughly seventy people; the room can be partitioned into two separate areas, sitting fifty and twenty people respectively, should there be need to.
Refreshments & food
We will have beverages, including caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, water and soda, and light snacks available in the morning and throughout the day.
Lunch will be provided. We are still working out details of this, but we will be making options available for people with specific dietary needs.
Dinner
There will not be catered food for dinner. However, there are many local restaurants to cover a wide variety tastes, so we will be contacting one or two local establishments to find a good option for a semi-official dinner location.
Free stuff!
While we won’t have a t-shirt this time around, at least for this first code sprint, we may have a small amount of swag to give away.
Register today - Free Tickets!
In order to help us coordinate everything, tickets are now available – for free!

Please register so that we may have accurate headcount for the day. Of particular importance on the registration form will be a question about dietary requirements, please be specific if you can so that we can cater to everyone’s needs. While tickets will be free, we encourage those who are in a position to do so to please make a donation to help cover our costs for the day.

Cross-posting to nearby groups
Good evening.
I've cross-posted the announcement in some nearby groups to help spread the word. Drupallers are often willing to travel a few hours to get to a code sprint, so we in the NH Drupal group would like to extend a warm welcome to travelers from the Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine and the entire New England region.
Again, the event will be free of charge, including lunch. We will have training in the morning to help beginners climb some of the initial rungs of the Drupal Ladder, and from there we intend to have a number of beginner-through-intermediate -level issues identified that people can work on.
We look forward to seeing you!
This weekend!
Don't forget that the Keene code sprint is this weekend! I'm looking forward to seeing some of you there, and don't forget that you don't have to be an expert, we're specifically going to tailor the day to beginners and will be able to help people regardless of their skill level.
Free parking!
While Keene's public parking is normally metered, because tomorrow is Saturday and will be very quiet in the area, everyone should be able to park in the Center's private (thus free) parking lot on Roxbury Street, right beside entrance "B" in the map.
I look forward to seeing you in the morning!
Yay!
Thanks to everyone who attended!
It was a lot of fun
