I am looking for the best accessible audio player that is available for Drupal. I have looked at a couple and none of them appear to be that good. I found a native HTML 5 player that tests well (http://terrillthompson.com/ableplayer/test0.html) but I do not see this for Drupal.

Able Player Drupal Module on GitHub
@skessler, the HTML5 player you mentioned (Able Player) is open source. Here's the home page on GitHub:

Creating an Able Player Drupal module is on my to-do list but I can never seem to find the time. There's already an issue for that on our GitHub repo, flagged as a "high priority enhancement":

Drupal Integration
We're definitely interested in helping with this integration. I suspect that there are a few institutions that would be interested in supporting this effort as well.
If there is funding available to build this it would go a lot faster and could defintiely be more robust. There are a few other video players out there to build on so I'm really not sure how much more time it will take to build.
Hopefully we can get a list of institutions who would like to help support build & maintain this module.

Audiofield module
Audiofield module https://www.drupal.org/project/audiofield supports couple of players and is easily addable as filefield to content and entities.
It has hook_audiofield_players() so other modules can extend and provide integration with other players.

AblePlayer sandbox module update
npacker's ableplayer module is making great progress. I hope this can be a full project soon.
Note that afemath's ableplayer project is no longer being maintained.

We have a forked version of npacker's ableplayer as part of core in ELMS:LN. It's one of those show-stopper types of capabilities with everything it provides for video and audio.
