Anyone interested in a hike on any of the many LA trails?

There's the Hollyridge Trail (Griffith Park) and Runyon Canyon Trail (Runyon Canyon Park) just to name a few.

Anyone else want to hike any of the CA trails?

Sounds like a great idea.

Sounds like a great idea. I've hiked LA extensively over the last few years.

Because of my schedule I'm unlikely to be able to make it but if anyone wants suggestions on hikes, etc., feel free to ask.

Personally, I'd go with Griffith over Runyon, unless you're hoping for star sightings.

Then there's the Hollywood Sign which is nothing special except it's the Hollywood Sign! ;)

Most of the close waterfall hikes are probably mere trickles at this point.

There's the old MAS*H set, Vasquez Rocks (a Star Trek episode and numerous other things were filmed there), and other TV & Movie sets etc for those interested.

On PV there's the sea caves and tide pools - plus you get to enjoy the beach without the crowds.

Or head into the mountains on Angeles Crest and related areas - it'll be cooler and less arid (ie there's trees!).

For those feeling adventurous there's the Bridge to Nowhere - a ~10mi round-trip hike with water crossing, and a mysterious beautiful, tall, old bridge in the middle of nowhere (plus bungie jumping - call ahead for that).

For those not familiar with our local flora and fauna: be aware of poison oak, rattle snakes, various spiders, and rarer scorpions, mountain lions and bears.

Bring plenty of water, and wear sunscreen.

Enjoy!

Griffith Park

Griffith park is probably closest . . . and L.A. Hiking already has a couple hikes planned that are probably easiest to get . . . to . . . starting on the east side at the merry-go-round area. And evening . . . after the convention.

I'm not driving . . . so can't get there myself, although I do on other days and times.
