The next SCDUG will be Tuesday August 4th at 7pm* at Nextspace.
1) *Given that most everyone wanted to leave by 8:30pm in the July meeting, we might want to consider if we should shift the time from 7pm-9pm to 6:30pm to 8:30pm or even 6pm to 8pm (or earlier?). Since most people who attend are locals, then this change might be welcome. For those who come from over-the-hill, I imagine an earlier time would be hard. I think we should give preference to the locals though and particularly the "regulars". So if you come to SCDUG more often than not, please leave a comment with:
-
Yes/No on switching the time
-
If yes, what time preferences you have?
-
If yes, do you want to start change next week?
2) What do we want to discuss next week?

Conference room
Ah, I just realized that our wonderful host and venue might not be available at an earlier time. Perhaps the room is booked up. Darren can chime in on that but feel free to add your 2 cents before that happens.

Room booked at 6:30pm
I changed the time. We are good to go...
Thanks Darren
Ok... so... any of the regulars not happy to move to 6:30? I like the earlier time myself but it's not a huge deal for me.

I like the earlier time! But
I like the earlier time! But I am likewise close in distance, and it's easy for me to make this adjustment. Especially because it works out better for me this way.

Can't make 630
Simply put, I will not be able to make it there at 630 for the foreseeable future. As it is there is the occasional tuesday where I won't be able to make it until 715. There might be a good chance that a with a shift in the time, I may not be showing. :(

6:30 works for me.
6:30 works for me.
Earlier on a Tuesday...
...is inconvenient for me. We have a standing dinner date on Tuesdays with a friend and while 7pm is no problem, I'm sure I won't be able to make the start at 6:30.

Maybe 7pm to 8:30pm as "official" time?
Hi all,
There are some regulars who can't make the earlier time. I'll move the time back to 7pm.
But, considering many wanted to leave at 8:30pm last time, do we want to just shorten the meeting a bit from 7pm to 8:30pm? We can try to start "on time" and be more focused.
Thoughts?
Also, any specific topics for Tuesday?

before and after parties
Well, how about a before and/or after meeting place... like that Mexican place behind SC coffee roasters... where it's a little more informal and where people can spend as much time as they like?
I'd second this
I'm a very infrequent attendant, but I can see the function for a before meeting time/place and a more focused official time. Both could be at the same place, but the taco bar is always great.
El Palomar
Pretty sure you mean El Palomar; they have a bar area and a dining room.

I think that's the one,
I think that's the one, Darryl... it has a bar, a sit down area with wait staff, and a "get stuff quick at the counter and seat yourself" area. Coffee next door is nice and last time I was there, there was free WiFi too. Pizza my heart is a short walk too...
Anyway, I hardly get to make it to the meetups and I don't live in SC so maybe some of you locals will know somewhere better.
Hi guys, Does anyone coming
Hi guys,
Does anyone coming from the South Bay/San Jose? I want to attend, but I don't have a car.
Car
Yes, I am planning to go. Let me know your number and we can talk over phone.
Before/after locations
Before/after locations would be interesting. I'm not sure how many people would be interested though. Lulu's or Peet's across from Nextspace could be a logical "before" location unless people want food then the taco bar might make sense.
We can discuss options on Tuesday... before/after locations and start/end times.
What else do we want to talk about?

See you in Sept.
So sorry I won't make this meeting AGAIN. I have been backpacking/camping a lot this summer. Currently on my way to Idaho. Have fun and I'll see you in September.
BTW any meeting time is good for me. Occasional food/drink before or after would be fun!
7pm tonight
Just to be clear. I put the time back to 7pm a bit ago when some people said they couldn't do 6:30pm.

Enjoy folks!
I'm off and about this evening, but hope it's a great meeting.

Red Test
Hi all,
Sorry I couldn't give an impromptu demo of the Red Test, the integration testing framework for Drupal. I had a new laptop and the PHP configuration I had by default wouldn't work with composer. After I changed the PHP configuration, it's working fine. In case you are interested in learning more about Red Test, I am presenting on Drupal Test Driven Development in SVDUG on Aug 13. Hope to see you guys there! :)
Regards,
Neerav.

Hi everyone,
It was nice to meet all of you in person. I hope next time I will also be able to visit the meetup.
I would really appreciate if you take a look at Wodby and let me know what you think. What would you love to see in our platform, what features do you find most useful? May be you think pricing is inadequate.
Thanks!
