I need a Drupal dev to help me knock out a site to run on a LAN at a convention.
Here's the skinny:
In the past, the wireless connections have been spotty - and the loss of a connection means a loss in contacts / info captured. So - we are going to run it on a localhost through a LAN.
Doesn't need to be too sexy on the front end (think - clean, BootstrapCDN theme with a dozen overrides).
That said, the missing piece is ensuring we can capture customer data from a badge scan. While this should be fairly simple, I don't know the exact tech they are using (or providing) or if we can implement a library to ingest that data.
Here is what we are thinking:
Set up a simple page for every station. Will consists of text and images about the current topic). I think there will be about 4 - 5 stations.
End user will scan badge at each station. We'll use the information from the badge to populate hidden fields (think webforms - to make it super simple. Each station will have its own webform ... with other fields to capture that pertain to the topic of the station.
That is pretty much it.
The end users don't have to authenticate - we will export all the data as the business partners are fine doing that in Excel. What they can't do is capture the information in a reliable, offline way.
Pretty easy peasy. We have a budget (of course) and we should be able to turn this around is 6 weeks from now. When I say we I mean that I have a very good idea about how the architecture - you get to execute it. Well work together to figure out the scanning part.
