This month's Portland Drupal User Group is tomorrow, Oct 11 from 6pm to 8:30pm at Metal Toad (522 SW 5th Ave. Ste 400).
Free pizza and beverages are provided by Metal Toad! Come at 6pm for food and socializing. Get to know your local Drupal community in a casual welcoming environment. At the end of the event, we'll be raffling a free copy of PHPStorm.
This month is a Bloom DUG! Chris Bloom is going to be getting us up to speed on some JavaScript build tools and React Native. I'm quite a bit out of my depth on this topic, so he'll be posting a follow up comment with more details shortly.
Why React at DUG you ask? The Drupal core team, led by Dries is discussing adopting React for the Drupal admin UI. You can follow along with the discussion here: https://www.drupal.org/node/2913321, and it looks very much like this happening.
After the meetup a group of us will head out together to a place nearby.

Chris Bloom is unexpectedly
Chris Bloom is unexpectedly flying for work. So, he's unable to attend tonight after all. Lightning talks have never been my fave, and I've always wanted our DUG to be more group like. So, I'm going to try leading a facilitated discussion of React in core. If you have thoughts or suggestions about tonight, feel free to share.
