Hello,

I am the founder of Debug Academy; my team and I have taught and refined career-changing Drupal 7 & 8 development courses at Debug Academy ( https://debugacademy.com ) - and the course is better than ever! I will be the lead teacher for the upcoming semester, where we will teach Drupal 8. The course will be offered approximately 50% in-person at a metro-accessible location in Tysons Corner, VA, and 50% online. Can't make it in-person? You can attend all classes live & remotely as well!

A key differentiator of ours is that we do not re-use project materials across semesters; a designer is hired for every semester's project. This semester we will be creating and contributing a brand new Drupal 8 theme to Drupal.org, kicking off graduates' careers as contributors to Drupal and giving back to the community simultaneously! Many graduates contribute patches to various modules during the semester as well!

The class is part time (twice a week - 1 weekday evening online, 1 weekend morning in-person) and spans 3 months. The scheduled start date is June 3rd, 2018. Apply at our student-built website https://DebugAcademy.com/apply - the clear path to a new career.

As a direct result of taking our class, our graduates have received (and accepted) job offers from well known development companies such as Acquia, Taoti, Balance Interactive, BeaconFire Red, Mobomo, Booz Allen, Pioneering Evolution and more. Furthermore, each of those companies has given job offers to students who had no development experience prior to enrolling in the class.

By taking this class and dedicating the appropriate amount of time to learning its material, you will be in great shape for moving to the next phase of your career. The majority of our students are referred by previous graduates, which we are very proud of.

Additionally - we boast a stellar student to teacher ratio, ensuring that the class remains accessible to individuals of any level of experience. There will be a teacher and at least one TA available during every class, and myself and our alumni are also available in the class chatroom at all hours. With our small class sizes and personalized curriculum, there is no better way to change or further your career.

Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them. I will be teaching the upcoming semester and will be happy to personally answer any questions. I can be reached via e-mail: ashraf.abed@debugacademy.com or phone: (703) 544-2633.

You can hear from a few of our previous graduates in posts and videos:

Debug Academy is “Awesome”!!! I took this course and after 8 weeks of training, I was able to get hired as a PHP/Drupal Developer. Ashraf ensures that students walk away from the course with a good working knowledge of Drupal 8 and understanding of the latest best practices within the industry. The training material is very detailed and I’ve referred back to it as needed on my job. Even after completing the course, the support is still there from classmates other alumni and Ashraf. Ashraf has been available to help me with various questions, like with regards to upgrading Drupal 7 to 8 on multisite. His knowledge/understanding of this setup, helped me share information with the Development Team so we could write out three Courses of Action to take before management.

Another great thing about the Debug Academy course is that each class begins with a 10-15 minute discussion with regards to the homework/class project. This is like having a Daily Scrum/Stand-up, something that’s key to identifying impediments to development. Several Development Teams throughout the industry follow this method and its particular value in Agile software development processes. Ashraf is getting you ready and throughout the course, you will work with Git, Github, HTML, SASS, Composer, Drush, Drupal 8 and other applications/files. As a class, you will work on a project that will be delivered to a client at the end of the course, which is really good to show on your resume as well as solidify your Drupal 8 knowledge.

I highly recommend this program if you're ready to take your career to the next level.

Thank you for the kind words

I have exciting news for

I have exciting news for participants in the upcoming part-time Drupal 8 course's project. The class project will be rebuilding a U.S. based non-profit organization's Drupal 7 website using Drupal 8, and migrating all of its data using best practices, including custom module development as-needed.

Additionally, they will be paying students for some of the development work completed. 100% of what the client pays for student work goes directly to the students when they complete tasks(/aka 'homework').

For anyone interested, the part-time thorough Drupal 8 developer course starts soon, on June 3rd. Contact me if you have any questions about whether the course is a good fit for you or someone you know: 703-544-2633 / ashraf.abed@debugacademy.com
