There's a regular discussion about how it is difficult for people in different parts of the world to know when Drupal's security releases will happen, e.g.:

How about we set up a public calendar that shows the security windows, they could subscribe to it and let their respective calendar programs adjust the timezone. We would then publicize this calendar on d.o/security and other locations, and keep it current for when release windows are changed.

It would seem sensible to simply add the events to the Drupal 8 core calendar at https://www.Drupal.org/initiatives

I'd rather we changed the schedule to being given in UTC times, rather than a country-specific timezone, which is what this would be trying to work around.
Updated calendar link
Heh it urns our that the calendar we were using for core events was owned by someone outside the project. Tim found a way to duplicate it and the events contained in it and place the new one on the https://www.Drupal.org/initiatives page.
Additional request
This is great! Thanks to everyone who manages this.
One minor request - could someone please add a block to the d.o/security sidebar that mentions the release standard schedule and links to either the calendar or the release timing page? I just think it needs to be more visible. Thanks.

That's a good idea, Damien, I'll mention it to Engineering...

I think there could be some value in maintaining a separate calendar for security releases, since they are relevant to all Drupal users and not just core contributors, so it would be nice if people could subscribe to something without cluttering their calendars with irrelevant (to them) events.
