Feeling Excited & Confident with the energy, ideas & participation in the Second in-person board meeting of Drupal India Association (DIA) @ Drupal Camp Pune, September 14th 2019! DIA was launched in Drupal Camp Delhi in May, 2019. DIA has been seeking seed fund from Drupal Shops in India and today has seven of us organization – Srijan, QED, Axelerant, Opensense Labs, Ameex, Innoraft & Unimity as the First set of Organization Members.

Selected members of the community, representatives of the Organization Members and the DIA board, spent Saturday brainstorming ideas and concluded with specific action items. The focus areas were defined to ensure creating value for the member organizations and the Drupal community in India. The areas include:
- Grow business opportunities
- Grow Contributions coming from India
- Popularize Drupal
The meeting resulted in defining action items and also directions, approaches towards implementing them. The action items include:
- Create a Digital presence for DIA by initiating Digital Marketing activities
- DIA website – concept , design & launch
- Identify tech events that DIA can participate in and hire a big booth where all member organizations can participate
- Initiate a plan/blueprint for a Business focused event for CMOs in India
- Camps & Meetups – work on “Open meet up guidelines” & prepare a calendar of events that can be carried forward across various cities for holding meetups & Drupal Camps.
A big shout out to all participants of the DIA meeting for taking time off their weekend to collaborate on this unique initiative.

So why did we all come together? First and foremost was our belief in the platform Drupal, secondly and more important our belief in Open source & that we can create value by solving problems together. Here is a good example of how open source contributions don’t necessarily mean code. Drupal business houses across India joining together to create more value for the Drupal India Community, a step towards DIA’s vision to “Lead the world of Drupal”.
