I think it would be great if Drupal had a "Share on " feature like Facebook's share.php. Many sites have a "Share on Facebook" button, but there is also a link you can bookmark so you can share any page you visit on the web.
Drupal's aggregator module already has the ability to blog any individual news item that you subscribe to on your Drupal site by clicking "Blog It". But how would a similar button work that you can use on external sites, and also bookmark in your browser?
Any thoughts or work already being done on this?

Sounds like a job for another contrib module
Hi Mike,
That sounds like a cool idea. It doesn't seem like a core part of Facebook and Drupal integration to me so it's probably best suited for another contrib mod, or possibly an extension to the existing share functionality in Drupal.
When we get some core Facebook API modules together for Drupal then this work will likely take off rapidly.
On that note, I (personally) am still working on these modules, my time has been massively usurped lately but this work is still crawling ahead. With any luck we'll have a production release together "soon".
James.

Hi there,
I think i might have what you are looking for. I'm currently working on a module that dispalys bookmarking site links.
See this following post. http://drupal.org/node/170892
Is this somthing you would be intrested?
Also there is currently a bounty setup here too if you're intrested: http://mitesh.chipin.com/share-this
Any questions give me a shout.
thanks.

Similar solutions?
Seems like to the following provide something similar to the desired functionality - there are a LOT of sites using these services:

http://www.addthis.com/
What seems to be lacking (but I may be overlooking) is a way to easily submit to 'your' site(s) (such as Drupal). Somewhat related would be a feature to syndicate a post (that you have authored) to multiple sites. While Drupal sites like NowPublic (http://www.nowpublic.com/) and GoingOn (http://www.goingon.com/) do provide this type of functionality, it would be great to have it baked into Drupal.

Bookmarklet Feature
I was poking around more this weekend and found what I was looking for. The proper term for this feature is "bookmarklet." Searching for this on drupal.org proved fruitful. Goes to show you how much phrases matter when you Google for something =)
So see e.g.

That thread is old though and it seems the latest and greatest method is the prepopulate module.
http://drupal.org/project/prepopulate
If you look in the usage.txt of that module it gives a good example to use.
