Is there anyway to keep your site private once it is imported

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I have gotten Aegir to work YEAH!

It imports sites fine most of the time.

But I was wondering if there is a way to stage the site.

Right now it imports, and it is automatically available.

I see "enable", but neither view nor run are available.

As I describe this, I see that this might be a bug.

I don't know what 'privacy'

I don't know what 'privacy' you are talking about.

If you mean htpasswd protection, a feature for that has not been written.

It's not a bug but a feature request.

There might be a small UI bug.
I think that once a site is imported, it is automatically enabled. But the buttons "view" and "run" by enable are grayed out.
It took me a few tries to realize that the site was automatically enabled.

I guess then that being able to "enable for admin viewing" is a feature request then.
I just imported a site and I have to go back and update all picture paths. I would rather not do this while the site is available to everyone.
In the mean time I can keep site in maintenance mode.

Another option is that I am switching between hosts right now.
At my current host and url I have a working site
I am trying to setup my site via aegir with the same url on a new host and then switch the dns records.
is there a way for me as admin to view the imported site without having to make it live and switch my dns entries to the new site?

Two suggestions.. easy first.

Two suggestions.. easy first. try setting a subdomain on your primary domain to the new site. I usually use new.mydomain.com or w2.mydomain.com
second, try changing the default workflow settings on the Site content type.

combined, these might get you closer to where you want to be.
