Hi all,
The Silicon Valley LAMP meetup group is looking for a speaker to give a presentation about Drupal at an upcoming meetup on coming Thursday (Apr 29, 6:30pm) at Yahoo! Sunnyvale. YDN is willing to evangelize via Twitter etc.
If you're interested, or know someone who might be, please reply or email me at (aadityabhatia at gmail) ASAP.

How long is the presentation?
I can make a presentation, if I know your audience a little better.
First, how long this presentation supposed to last?
Second, are your attendees mainly PHP developers or CMS or any other software expertise?

Hey guys, it's kind of tight, but I think I could come down Thursday night and do my Drupal evangelism thing. I've given 3 presentations in as many weeks on Drupal, and would be happy to give another. If he is part of that group, Alex Kissinger with Yahoo could probably vouch for me. I work for San Francisco State University, so my bent is towards Enterprise deployments for a university campuses. Cheers.

sounds good
That would be awesome. If you could confirm by tonight, I'll make sure the word spreads out to the community in time. Please also send me a brief outline, so I could post it to our meetup.com event page and send it to Yahoo! Developer Network (YDN) for broadcast.
Thank you,
Aaditya

Additional Details
We're planning to have two 30-minute presentations. We could do one hour-long presentation.
Attendees are mainly developers and enthusiasts, willing to learn beyond the basics. Typically they have basic/intermediate PHP and MySQL skills, and it'd be safe to assume that most of them know how LAMP stack works.
Last month Dustin Whittle from Yahoo! talked about the use of Symfony at Yahoo!. The following recap would give you a better idea about what the audience is expecting: http://developer.yahoo.net/blog/archives/2010/03/march_lamp_meetup_recap...
Here's a quick link to his presentation: http://pys.me/nqf
In my anticipation, some intermediate level overview of Drupal architecture (themes, modules etc.), reasons to use Drupal, techniques to make it work in different situations, brief intro about writing your own modules etc. can make some good presentation topics. It would be good if the two speakers go over two different aspects of Drupal. Ideally, first one could keep it at the beginner level and second could go into further details.
Thank you for the questions, Gowri!
