Phoenix-area Drupalers,
We've setup a time and place for the first Phoenix Drupal User Group meeting! It will be Wednesday, October 24 at 6:00pm at Gold Bar Espresso in Tempe (http://tinyurl.com/24h5u7). We'd like to make this an introductory meeting to decide in what direction we'll be taking the group. Anyone, of any Drupal skill level, is welcome!

If you have any questions or comments about the meeting, please post them here.

Sounds good. You might want to add this to meetup.com as well - may be more people will join.
Google Maps shows that it will take me 29 minutes to get there... not sure if the suggested time is accurate keeping in mind rush hour traffic.

Sorry I can't be there

Good to hear from other Phoenix Drupal users. I have another commitment for that evening already or else I would be there. I hope a good-sized group shows up.

Still on?

Hi,

I'm thinking of coming down from Tucson. What size crowd are you expecting? I'd like to make the drive worthwhile. :-}

I don't think we know yet how many people will show up. There will be enough to have some good Drupal-ese conversation, I'm sure. I'm looking forward to meeting new Drupalers. Hope you show up.

Thanks for the response. I'll give it a try next week. We've used Drupal on one large project here and may be looking for more in the future.

Can't quite make that time

So that we can plan on the most central location for future meetings, here is my info:

  • Northwest Valley (67th Ave and Thunderbird Area).
  • I'm getting pretty decent with Drupal and have used about 20 modules (newbie/intermediate).
  • Started in March this year, but I'm still NOT production yet on a church website - getting close.
  • My son is a 16-year-old PHP whiz kid; dare I say MySQL/PHP/CSS God - and I'm very interested in getting him into the group.
  • For Oct 24, I'm actually going to be in Tempe, but have a 5:45 - 8:15PM appt (ASU Homecoming stuff), so I can't attend the Drupal Meet-up. Count me in for future meetings.

I meant to post this a while

I meant to post this a while ago, so I've forgotten some details, but we had the first meeting at the Gold Bar in Tempe. We had several folks from ASU, Joel from Scottsdale and Max from north Phoenix. Overall it was a pretty good introductory meeting. We basically just talked about what we've been doing with Drupal, shared some stories and tips and then talked about when we'd like to meet next. For the next meeting, we'll have a bit more structure. I'm starting to look around at the other area-based groups for inspiration, but if you have any ideas, please post them up here!

Our next meeting will probably be somewhere in Scottsdale, so if you know of a good location, reply back so we can see if we can make it happen. More news soon!

Core fields not operable - Help?

    jamesvito's picture

    Hey Phoenicians,
I'll try to keep it short (and first person to help me solve this gets a $15 gift card to coffee house of their choosing):
    1. I have installed several 6.12 sites and they work fine
    2. GoDaddy went to 6.13, so I've just installed that.
    3. On the blog entry, create an ad, fckeditor (admin>site config>fck editor settings), and probably more - the fields are not operable. As in, I can see them, but I cannot click thru them to configure.

For instance, when creating a blog entry, all the lower fields (Input Format, Book Outline, et cetera) ALL OF THEM are non-operable; or when trying to adjust the Create New Profile/Default/Advanced/or Global settings of FCKeditor, I can click on edit, but ALL the fields are non-operable - I just cannot click on anything.

All my permissions are set, all the modules I uploaded are configured...I figure I'm missing something small, but I have not clue. It's been 2 full days of work now and I cannot resolve the issue using my brain, the web, or a herring.

Can anyone help me? I'm running out profane words and Kleenex.

Thanks...jamesvito (I'll keep checking here, but you can also reach me at jamesvito@gmail.com)
