Author pages broken after update of modules

I confess it was not a smart move of me updating a module without backing up what I had before, but I am still learning drupal!
anyway, I updated op features and now the author pages are not displaying anymore. all the other pages are working fien apart from this.
Author content is there, I see author bios at the end of an article as intended, the problem is when I click on the name of an author and I end up in the author page where Ic an get the message: " THIS IS A AUTHOR TPL from module folder"

I tried everything, from generating a new context, a panel and recreating the feature but nothing seems to happen.
Do you have any suggestion where I can look to see how I can fix the problem?
