Contributing to "This Month in Drupal" for CMSWire

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

CMSWire trys to send out an update on news and happenings in various open source CMS-s (see http://www.cmswire.com/news/topic/foss+updates). Us in consulting & business land often have to do the same thing for client newsletters, blog posts, etc. but we usually do it all on our own.

I'd like to get some help in putting this together on a regular basis. Something like TMI Drupal, which stands for both "Too Much Information" Drupal, since there is a vast firehose of new info coming out on a regular basis to keep up with, and also "This Month in" Drupal, since we'll aim for a monthly release.

I've put together a first cut in a wiki page here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/69643 -- please add your own summaries and permalinks. What is also useful is if, for example, three people write blog posts about Widget X, we can say that this month Widget X is interesting, and can do a summary that links to all three of them.

Also remember that the majority of the people reading this are outside the Drupal community (or "off the island", as I've started saying), so it needs to highlight why this matters to web / tech / business users as a whole.

Comments

Please clarify how this will be used

Hi, Boris! I think it's great that you're taking an initiative to keep the Drupal name out there.

But I'm unclear on what you're proposing. Has CMS Wire agreed to publish the "This Month in Drupal" releases? If not, how are you planning to distribute them?

Thanks,
