After Centos...

Greg Coit's picture

Do the Debian folks out there want to see Mercury on Lenny or Squeeze? Squeeze should be easier to support (since we do use some prettty new packages) but lenny is more stable...

Please vote and post your comments - thanks!

We don't support squeeze in

We don't support squeeze in our production environments yet, it's still testing and Lenny was just released in January so we should still have quite a bit of time for security support, if they stick to the previous schedule then Lenny should be support for 1 year after squeeze is released. The packages you need for Lenny might be available from backports, we use that repository extensively and have never had any stability issues with any of the packages. I would think that supporting the current stable version would be preferable for most production business environments.

I'd be pleased to see Lenny

I'd be pleased to see Lenny supported. Long term Debian sysadmin that I am.. Squeeze will be out RealSoonNow right? ;)

Greg, let me know if there's anything I can do to help / test.. I've a potential usecase to deploy Mercury in Rackspace Cloud preferably on Debian (mainly because I'm a bit one-eyed about Debian.. yes I'm one of 'those' sysadmins :) )

Lenny

Lenny is what we use primarily right now. CentOS is a distant second (followed by Ubuntu), though that could possibly change in the future.

Thanks
