Snufkin is away and I'm really busy, but I could make it to Drupal drinks if enough people are coming along.
All those interested say 'aye'!

Edinburgh or Scotland meet-up
Hi,
Visiting from Australia and was wondering if there was any Drupal User Group stuff going on? for September/October?
yeah, i am sure we'll restart
yeah, i am sure we'll restart the meetups as soon DrupalCon ends and ppl get back to real life. When are you going to be in Scotland?
West of Scotland meetup?
Hi,
I'm pretty new to Drupal, currently playing around with it on local machine and really enjoying it. Would be cool to attend a meetup and get some hints and tips from more experienced folks. Does anything ever take place in the West of Scotland? I'm currently living in Kilmarnock.
West of Scotland
I started with Drupal meetings but stopped because all meetings were in Edinburgh.
I am based in Dumbarton and would attend meetings in the West if there is enough of us.

Yeh, I've been through to
Yeh, I've been through to Edinburgh for one, but is a bit of a mission after work. I'd definitely go along to anything in Glasgow.
West of Scotland Meeting
Like you I found the Edinburgh a bit of a nightmare. I had requested that we hold it somewhere out of Edinburgh, say Livingstone, as Edinburgh is not an feasible option for me. I do not wish to split the Scottish group but I think for members around the Glasgow area a more local meeting would be a viable option. If there is enough of us then we could hold meeting more local say some off the M8, M77.

I think it is only natural
I think it is only natural that as groups grow at some point they split up and become more and more localized. I think this is a very good trend, because it means the overall Scottish usergroup is growing!
These meetingups are self-organized, so if you want a meeting somewhere you have to go for it yourself. The reason why we (when I say we I mean those who normally post a call for a meeting on these boards) organize it in Edinburgh is that we know the pubs here better, besides its convenient for us.
So all in all don't feel bad about holding a meetup somewhere else, go for it, it will benefit the whole community here in Scotland.
