The Lullabot team will be in Portland August 2nd through the 6th teaching a week of Drupal workshops at the Hotel Monaco. We've got a great space reserved and some out-of-town workshop attendees who would love to meet the great Portland Drupal community. So, as we usually do when we're in town, we're organizing a Drupal Meetup on Tuesday, August 3rd! We'll have a cash bar, snacks, and a video projector and sound system. It's free and open to all, so come out and meet the 'bots and the workshop attendees. These events are always a great time.

We'll keep the format pretty open with lightening talks and question/answer sessions. We'd love to hear about the cool stuff that you're working on, Drupal discoveries, or just questions that you need answered.

I have to strongly recommend this meet-up. Lullabot has some great people on their team. You meet folks involved with some major projects. I always learn many new things, get insight into what's coming down the pipeline, and the flash presentations include some of their best folks and are always of a high quality. It's been a good time every time.

I'm new to the Drupal community - I've been working with Drupal for a few months and am just at the level of having written my first (extremely simple) modules. I'm pretty sure I would know exactly no one at this meet up, and I'm pretty shy, but at the same time, I'm interested in getting a little more involved in the Drupal community. So I will try to make it! If there's anyone else reading this in the same boat - you should come, and we can stand on the sidelines and not talk to anyone together. :)

Flag... or Webform... or Images?

I'm lacking in any "latest and greatest" talks for tonight but I'm always happy to talk about a few modules:

  • Webform 3.x: Multi-page forms, e-mail templates, and conditional forms
  • Flag 2.x: Building bookmarking, offensive, or signup systems (now with anonymous users!) and executing actions
  • Insert/Image Resize Filter/etc.: Simple WYSIWYG inline image handling

Can't wait to hang out with the Portland locals!
