Hi All,
Recently I have been informed that video module is going to die out and will not be supported in future versions of Drupal. Can anyone please confirm this? if this is true then what module will be used for Video in Drupal 6.x?
Thanks
Vinay

Embedded Media Field
The Embedded Media Field, with its included Embedded Video Field, does a fair to middling job of replacing that already, although it needs some theming to do properly. There are plans to make it support local videos better than it already does.
There are other developers working on a Video API module as well, though I don't know its current status, or its planned scope.

Uploading a file
Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. I have checked Embedded Media Field module. It does a good job - but it does NOT allows uploading of video file from local machine. Apart from this, the module seems to be great.
Please correct me if i am wrong.

Only via FTP for now...
At the moment emfield does allow you to point to a video on your own server, but it does not support uploading directly from within Drupal. If you're comfortable with FTP software, then you should be able to use it without a problem.
We have been talking about trying to integrate emfield with Media Mover and/or the Media API, and we may start toying around with this in the next few weeks..

I am curious as to what is
I am curious as to what is missing from the FlashVideo Module to be considered a solution here? I wrote this to achieve all that you have mentioned above.
FlashVideo
Hi,
I just checked FlashVideo module and - it does everything that is needed from a Video module. These people have release their module for Drupal 6.0 too - it means active development is going on - which is not seen in case of Video module.
Thanks for re-discovering Flashvideo for me.
Thanks
