The "post event" functionality in Drupal.org is broken. It has been for a while. I couldn't wait; so I am posting a simple announcement.
Here it is.
The 2nd meeting of the Indiana Drupal Users Group.
When?
Saturday March 1st @ 2pm EST
Where?
I haven't nailed that down yet, but the 2 possibilities are the BroadRipple area OR the Castleton Area - I'll update you on this when I find out.
Why?
- If you have never heard of Drupal, then show up and find out what it is.
- If you like the idea of Drupal but have never successfully installed it, then one of us can walk you through it.
- If you've installed Drupal but then it just sat there, then find out how to get content into Drupal
- If you have moved past the basics and want to dig in deeper, then find out what your fellow developers are doing with Drupal
- If you just want to be around Drupal developers and here the stories of how developers are using Drupal as the CMS to get a variety if jobs done.
Plenty of reasons
Are you coming?
Please consider coming and bringing some friends even if this their first exposure. They'll be plenty of high-end tech talk for those of us wanting to sharpen old skills and develop new ones.
I want to be clear that it will not be a distraction to have new, and inexperienced users at the meeting. I would be happy if we had more new people than Drupal Veterans.
On a more selfish note... I'd love to drain the brains of some of you who have some very nice looking Drupal sites!

Just the 2 of us...
If it's going to be just the 2 of us. I say we move it to the Panera that we almost had last month. I don't see anyone else jumping in on the meeting.
I did have a nice dialog with mcneelycorp. I saw him hanging out in the Drupal IRC room in freenode. I suggested that we have a West Lafayette meeting next time. He loved the idea. I believe that myself, and 2 of my coworkers could carpool out there and make it at least a 5 member gig!
Mcneelycorp wants to invite some locals and expose them to Drupal. I say bring it on!
If you're still game I'd love to meet with you this Saturday.

Whatever we decide to do
Whatever we decide to do this Saturday is fine with me. I just need to know the location before ~5:00pm on Friday. I won't have much Internet access after that point. I look forward to meeting whoever comes.
And a West Lafayette meeting would be very cool. Just fill me in on any details.
