30 Day Study

I have been setting up a drupal site for our church. One item our pastor has talked about is posting a 30 day topical bible study (one for now but additional series may come). What I would like is for people to be able to sign up for the study and then receive an email each day for the next 30 days with the daily study.

The complicating factor is not everyone is going to sign up on the same day. So if you sign up Oct 15 you will be emailed study 2 on Oct 16 but if you sign up Nov 1 you will be emailed study #2 on Nov 2 ...

My thoughts are either (A) keep track of which day everyone is on and each day increment this and send out appropriate emails or (B) use triggers/actions so that when you sign up it creates 30 email scheduled to go our over the next 30 days.

My concerns are for (A) this seems like alot of behind the scenes programing required and for (B) this is alot of rules to set up and what if the next study is 25days or someone wants to unsubscribe

Any better Idea's?

Get a free account at MailChimp, set up your study as an autoresponder series, and add a MailChimp sign up form to your site. Now whenever someone signs up for the study, MailChimp will send the emails in order from the date of sign up on what ever interval you set them up (daily, every 2nd day, whatever). There is also a module (http://drupal.org/project/mailchimp) that allows you to manage your MailChimp account from within Drupal.

Post back your experience if this works out for you.
