Project template

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

All approved apprentices will be asked to keep track of the pertinent details about their project in a central wiki page on this group. The following is a template for them to use to do this.

Project information

Project page on drupal.org: http://drupal.org/project/FOO
Apprentice: Joe Sock (socks on d.o, socks@drupal.org on g.d.o)
Mentor: John Daff (J.D.)
Co-mentor(s): Jane Guru (guru)
Local mentor(s):

Current status: Describe briefly where your project is this week. Are you in the process of scoping? Are you working on a particular deliverable?

Description

A brief summary of your project and why it's awesome, with links off to further relevant information (the original public discussion, your full application, etc.) if you'd like.

Project schedule

This section should contain a schedule for your project, including milestones. Work with your mentors to refine this. Split milestones into drupal.org issues, and link to those. Cross items off your list as you get them completed.

Will this template suffice?

I borrowed this template from the Google Summer of Code group -

Will this sort of template suffice for the Drupal Kata? If not, how should we revise?

looks great to me, especially if it can be turned into a content type complete w/ node & user refs!

We'll do that on the Kata site

Unless we can magically create what we need on g.d.o., we'll probably have to build this into the Kata site. I do think a wiki might get a bit messy - especially when we're using it to track something like a website build where there will be many modules/features and people involved. As it's a key 'Kata' objective to interface with the official sites, we'll keep looking for ways to streamline/improve the process as we go.

Related to this, I'm having a hard time trying to visualize how to best to utilize the 'Kata' project space - there's an issue for that, so possibly a good place to figure that out.
