Communication via email?
We currently have the following forms of communication available to us: (a) discussions like this one on g.d.o and (b) the Sac Dug skype room.
Those two options each have their strengths. g.d.o is good for public, forum-type stuff. Skype is good for chatting, although participation is usually pretty light since people often are not signed in. However, I'm finding myself wanting to communicate with the active members of this group via email without the contents necessarily being publicly archived for posterity.

The Sacramento Drupal Users Group is pleased to announce the first ever Drupal Camp Sacramento Area.
This auspicious event will be two days full of sessions, BoFs, code sprinting, and engagement. Registration is now open and session proposals are now being accepted.

This two-day workshop will explore modules and configurations you can combine to build more customized systems using Drupal. You’ll create many examples of more advanced configurations and content displays using the Content Construction Kit (CCK) and Views modules. We’ll guide you through the complex User Interfaces that Drupal provides for controlling and customizing the many different ways to present lists and tables of your site’s content.

Days
3 days: June 21-23, 2011. This training is from 10am-5pm and begins at 10am sharp.
Prerequisites
At least six months of prior PHP development. Familiarity with Drupal terms such as nodes, blocks, fields and views. Experience with Drupal configuration and contributed modules/themes is necessary for understanding the concepts of module development.
