Lesson request on content editor
I would like to request a lesson where someone explains how to bring the editing of the content, styling and inserting/organizing of the images all together.
It seems like drupal is an excellent platform for programmers, but less ideal for the end users.
-Is it possible to create the customized site where a user can define the look and layout of his content and insert and control image positions easily?
-How can a user take advantage of designer defined CSS to his advantage, and maybe even define new ones?

Matt Westgate, co-author of Pro Drupal Development, is going to give us a lesson on Theming! The lesson will start with an existing HTML/CSS theme and carry us through basic "Drupalizing" to get us about 80% of the way there. Then we'll look at how to leverage template.php and Drupal's PHPTemplate system to take us the rest of the way to a fully customized theme. Chapter 8 of Pro Drupal Development on The Theme System is available online for free so everyone can see how concepts from the book are applied to a real world example. Should be an awesome lesson from a great teacher so make sure you mark the date.

Tomorrow FFH is doing his lesson on mixing Drupal and Flash -but we will not be using Skype this weekend. As Skypecasts have proven incompatible with anything except the windows platform, we're moving to Teamspeak - for tomorrow, you will need the teamspeak client.
To connect, simply go to [teamspeak://webavant.com:8768] and compatible browsers will connect automatically (Note: you need to have a teamspeak client installed for this to work). Anonymous users will have to specifically request voice rights from the menu.
To connect manually on windows, click Connection -> connect from the menu, and make your settings match this image, filling in your own nickname where appropriate.
Alternately, you might want to take a look at Teamspeak's connection tutorial to connect manually.
On Mac, simply follow dmitrig01's video http://dmitrizone.com/dump/teamspeak_for_mac.mov
There he gives instructions on both installing and connecting to the server.
What modules do you find invaluable that people don't know about?

Drupal is like a six thousand blade Swiss Army Knife - somewhere in there is exactly the tool you need, but you risk never seeing it in the crowd. A lot of people don't realize there's a critical difference between image.module and imagecache.module. And what's image_attach or easy_image, anyway? There's dozens of node hierarchy solutions out there; I used to use PAC tree, now I use Node Relativity, and soon I'll use Outliner.
So tell us: What module do you use to provide functionality we've never heard of? What tool makes your day with Drupal a million times easier?
Read moreDrupal Shops and Drupal Dojo?
In the five months that the Dojo has been active, it's been a constant objective of mine to remain independent, open and supportive of the wider Drupal project and community. Given the obvious and continuing market growth around Drupal, one aspect of this has been trying to keep the Dojo professionally-minded and helpful, but also vendor-neutral.
It's a mark of pride for me that active Dojo participants have found gainful employment in part through this group, but to date we've shied away from any formal involvement with Drupal shops. That seems like a decision worth pondering, and it occurs to me that an important part of establishing the Dojo as a sustainable institution may be finding support and engagement with the growing number of professional Drupal firms out there.
There seem to be a few key areas where help might be effective:
