Working group

The Storytellers group seeks to give greater visibility to the wide range of personal stories relating the experiences of the Drupal community. A collaboration between project leaders, supporting volunteers, and story contributors of various storytelling projects, Storytellers share the goals of putting a personal face on the Drupal community and illustrating the diversity of people and experiences it includes.

The goal of this group is to aggregate information, use cases, issues and foster collaboration for getting Drupal to work with the Oracle database platform.

As Drupal starts to infect enterprise with its ease of use, scalability and security, we are seeing larger enterprises asking if Drupal can work with their current Oracle infrastructure. There have been a limited number of successful use cases, primarily due to the PDO driver being outdated and because of Drupal's sometimes fractured reliance on MySql specific database functionality.

Our mission is to discuss tricks and tips and modules for supporting the coordination of regional events, theme camps, and other related Burning Man coordination activities.

Please share your victories, questions and other relevant material. Who knows, perhaps we'll be able to create a distribution just for theme camps!

Given the interest shown at Drupalcon Portland with both a crowded session and BOF, the next step of fostering a growing use of Behat is to have a group of interested users/developers/etc. Behat, if embraced by enough Drupal folks, has the potential to vastly improve the way we test Drupal websites.

This group is specifically for organizing, planning and working on Drupal projects being fostered by developers/architects interested in harmonizing authentication with external services in Drupal. This group is also the focal point for organizing BoFs, sprints, and camps.

We have a Drupal Social Initiative Google Group.

The initial initiative for this is from a group of people interested in coordinating efforts on re-imagining the highly-functional recipe module that is showing it's architectural age as something primarily feature and field based.

Developing geographic-based connections goes back to the Free-Net and community networking movement of the 1990s, last decade neighborhood mailing lists on YahooGroups dominated and today such neighborhood connecting is on the rise via proprietary sites like Facebook Groups, NextDoor and others.
