Drupal Brisbane Meetup
In the meeting venue poll I saw there was a request from Carlo wanting to "learn something" at each meeting, which gave me a couple of ideas that I thought I'd throw out to be kicked around - or kicked out, as the case may be… :-)
I'm not sure how meetings are handled in other jurisdictions but, mindful of the diversity of attendants we have locally, I wonder whether we might consider running a few "streams" at each meeting to cover the varying interests people have.
As an example, these might aim to cover some of the following:
Community building/getting involved

Personally I feel a need to meet Drupal colleagues to share information, discuss problems and listen to solutions for all aspects of Drupal.
It could also be quite a learning moment to invite speakers who have extensive Drupal experience, e.g. someone like Pierre Guillaume Wielezynski, who leads the WFP Web Team.
Anyone with any other suggestions? Please let us know so we can make some kind of planning, invite speakers and prepare the first meeting.

Hi folks,
this group started after an IRC meeting @ #eglug some time ago, but since groups.drupal.org lacked wiki functionality we did not use it for anything.
this is a proposed short term Agenda for the group based on what we discussed in that meeting
- Gharbeia is our main translator, he has veto rights in order to have a since of consistency in the translation
- other translators can adopt a contrib modules
Sessions posted
As you may have noticed from the huge number of postings, Petrina took all the individual sessions listed in the agenda and turned them into separate events. For convenience sake, we also put them in a book outline - see the sessions outline for an easy overview of all the sessions.
Please use the signup function to indicate which sessions you are likely to attend.
Are there other topics you want to talk about? Leave a comment! (or find likely co-conspirators to talk with over beer...)

Any other thoughts?

1) Go over decisions made at previous meeting, most notably the units as defined here : http://drupaltutorials.com/sami
2) Discuss the project goal for Unit 1 - Basic Brochureware site. Preferably by the end of the day we should be able to configure the site ourselves, and have a list of modules , with a list of subjects we need to discuss to implement those modules.
3) Go over angie's lesson plan (http://drupaltutorials.com/lessons) and choose which parts of it are applicable to Unit 1.
5) Set up courseware mailing list for public discussion, and notifications.
