For your coding pleasure, we present: Quickstart 0.8 (bittorrent link).

Quickstart is a downloadable virtual machine, containing a pre-configured Ubuntu Linux PHP development environment. Develop and debug LAMP natively, on any computer, without hassle.

QS 0.8 includes updates and bug fixes to QS 0.7. If you're already using QS 0.7, below is a script that will make the bug fixes.

QS 0.8 was also used to make the HOWTO videos on the Quickstart YouTube channel: step debugging, performance profiling, simple email debugging, etc.

What's next for the project? Not quite sure, but I'd love some feedback on how it's being used, and what features or HOWTO videos would be useful.

I know that Quickserver it's meant to have the dev environment also in the Virtual Machine, but I'm finding more suitable for my case to have the dev environment on Windows.

So I still use LAMP stack, Drush, Aegir, and all that *nix tools that come already with Quickserver but the files and development environment is Windows 7.

Other alternative I was considering is to have a separate dev machine on your LAN instead of a Virtual Machine and share files over the network.

this site at www.envirogroup.com.au is built on the Zen Sub theme. There were two other affiliate sites www.envirobrite.com.au and www.enviroshop.com.au. The latter two sites were built using Amity Island theme from drupal.org, but I had to change it so much in the end I realise for me now that it is always easier to start from 'scratch' with Zen and work up from there. Thanks Zen Sub Theme!
