ScoopAfrica.com is a new website I developed with Drupal. It is a business networking website for professionals and small-business owners across Africa. Individuals can create comprehensive professional profiles that would help in locating the right employer and their desired jobs, while companies can create complete company profiles that serves as a cost-effective advertising tool.

The original idea was from my partner, which we both run Scoop Internet Services in Lagos. He handles the marketing while I do the development.

The IDLELO open source conference (http://idlelo.net) is taking place next week in Accra, Ghana.

I'm heading over there to present on mobile application development with Drupal and it would be great if any fellow Drupalistas would be up for a Drupal get-together over drinks.

As I'm obviously new in town, any suggestions on where said encounter could take place would be very welcome?

These are two new African projects that I am about to sign off . The first is self-descriptive and it is the online edition of a magazine named IT Business in Africa which is meant to be a meeting hub for CEOs, CIOs and all ICT professionals in Africa . The second is a public appraisal website for Nigerian leaders.

I am a high school student in America participating in the Google Highly Open Participation Contest 2007 (http://code.google.com/opensource/ghop/2007-8/) and am working on a task for Drupal. The task is to research how Drupal is used in Africa to demonstrate that Drupal is used worldwide.

I am posting this to you either because you are an Africa group, have an African Drupal site, or have been using Drupal for a while and are knowledgeable (or all three)
