I have been using Drupal as a framework for some web sites for a number of years and have more recently become interested in learning the inner workings, possibly as a vocation. My Drupal 6 site is behind the development curve and I am going to be upgrading it.

Before start, try make these two tools available with you. One is "Microsoft Expression Web 4" and another is "Coral-8 Uniform Server". These two tools tremendously help you to start easily. Suppose you have installed Uniserver in your PC/Laptop in Drive D and you are developing the website "drupalcodes". So your directory location must be D:\UniServer\www\drupaldev\ (this directory contains the entire Drupal Core i.e. you download Drupal 7 and rename it as drupalcodes instead of Drupal). Now we are going to make the theme "Themaccu".

I am Just Entered PHP Field Now. As I am searching for Drupal Advantages in Google I found some people telling that Drupal is not Best CMS compared to other. But i want to master in Drupal.

I think Reason for Difficult Drupal Development is Drupal Development can only Done by Intelligent people Right ?

Hi Guys,

While I was entertaining the relatives this weekend, I couldn't help thinking about Drupal. It's a sickness really. I need to seek help. Before I do though, I wrote this blog post on the key areas I feel need to be explored before taking on a Drupal project. As we all know, some projects are bad bad bad. Some projects are really good. Going through this long rant list that I've compiled should give the new folks the benefit of what some of us older guys have already suffered. I'm a PDX UI designer with 10 years of old school HTML experience trying to bring the best of Open Source form and function to my clients' websites. In the last year or two I've gained a good working knowledge of Drupal, but lack the Deep Magic. I'm hoping to partner up with a skilled backend developer who looks for signs of intelligent life beyond Minelli and Garland.

My goal is to build some community websites. Features include ratings, link sharing, user profiles, group calendars, etc.

Drupal provides much functionality out of the box. Modules extend that functionality.

With Drupal I can go in the right direction, but I am having lots of difficulty customizing the solution to meet my needs.

Most events show up in ical as one hour off, while others show up with the correct time.
