I am an iPHONE and ANDROID developer as well as doing DRUPAL. I am looking for some assistance from someone that has ASTERISK experience and a server that I can use for experimentation. Basically I just want to write the clients on the phone but I need a server to test with.
this is a personal project that I want to do and demonstrate for a potential client, and I have some ideas for mobile VoIP.

thus, if someone has these resources and some time to experiment with me, I would appreciate your assistance.

This past Tuesday (4/20) we organized a birds-of-a-feather session at DrupalCon SF 2010. It was awesome to see so many people interested in the integration of Drupal with internet telephony!

We've just created a new group called "Voip Drupal" to focus on the implementation of a platform-independent framework to integrate Drupal sites with Internet-telephony systems.

While the "Asterisk integration" group focuses primarily on Asterisk, our goal is to build something more generic that would connect with other VoIP systems such as Asterisk, FreeSwitch an others.

I'm building a framework to facilitate the integration between Drupal sites and internet telephony servers (VoIP, Asterisk, FreeSwitch).

My first prototype was built using Drupal's XML-RPC functionality. What would be the pros and cons of moving to a Services-based API? How hard would it be to do the transition?

November 8th can be called the relaunch of development for the Asterisk/Drupal module. I worked with the Asterisk PBX as an application a few years ago. At the time I found these resources extremely helpful:

TrixBox is a GPL application that rolls Asterisk, a full Linux install, Apache, MySQL and PHP and a variety of Asterisk supporting applications such as Festival into a single ISO.
If you haven't touched Asterisk before and want a head start, put this onto an extra PC and you will be golden!

If you are interested in the Drupal-telephone (VoIP) integration, please let me know. I'm currently putting together a team to upgrade, release and extend my existing VoIP modules.

The current implementation is compatible with Drupal 4.7 and offers the following functionality: voicemail, voicemail groups, phone-based announcements and phone-based events.
