Event Registration - Anyone using Drupal to manage this function?

Does anyone have any recommendations of which modules are best to use to handle library event registrations?

Ideally we would want a facility to add custom fields in the signup form by event type so we can have some extra fields like age for children's events. We need to have the ability to generate / export a list of attendees.

Also, automatic generation of email registration confirmation / event reminder emails would be good.

The ability to generate / export a list of attendees.

We do not need a e-commerce facility at this stage.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks - Megan

Drupal for OPAC session at ALA2013 - vote now!

Hi All,

For those folks going to ALA in Chicago (or even if you are not) it would be great if you could vote for the session - “Liberate Your Information” - Revolutionizing the Library Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) with Drupal.

Kelly Lucas did a lightening session on this at Code4Lib, but this is a fantastic topic for anyone interested in seeing the infinite possibilities with Drupal - in this case integrating with third-party library systems.

Take two seconds to vote, just click here:

Thanks!

Access Control: OG vs. Workbench

Hey all,

My name is Courtney and I work as the Web Interface Designer at Johnson County Library in Kansas. We have begun our Drupal journey and are in the process of redesigning our Teen section in Drupal.

First, what sort of access control have you set up at your library? How does that work for you? Any shortcomings/pitfalls? Any awesome-sauce access control awesomeness?

Second, I've narrowed down options to two possible modules: Workbench suite or Organic groups.

I am trying to create a library site for my own personal book collection. I've figured out that I need to use the Field module (using Drupal 7) to create the books catalog, but what do I use to track users and the books they borrow?

Use ISBNs to pull in book data from other websites

I am creating a site which will basically be an annotated bibliography of resources related to the subject matter. As part of this work, I would like to have a way for people to input ISBNs and have Drupal "call" to another site to get data about the book.

Do you have any suggestions on how to do this? I am using Drupal 7.
