Adding a task and submitting a form.

I've created a custom profile with a task for submitting a form. I can't seem to get it working. The form renders and the task moves onto profile-finished but I can't call the submit hook. I've written a test version of it here.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

drupal developer distribution

Hi,

i am putting together a distribution aimed at module developers. Basically it gives a quick install of developer used modules and enables certain blocks, so one does not need to bother about setting these up. This also means that its not safe for deployment on live site, its only built for devs.

Any Interest in Learning How to Code in Drupal?

Hi all,

I have been using Drupal for about 6 months on my own site and now having a real desire to learn how to code in Drupal. I'm an application developer in real life, but never had to use PHP.

I'm wondering if anyone would like to walk down this path with me. I thought it would be more fun to do this as a team rather than by myself.
We can discuss details like when and how often we are going to meet if there is enough interest in such a "learning" group.

Please reply to this post if you are interested, and feel free to post any ideas you may have.

Thanks!

Links to development info

I thought I'd post a couple of quick links to some of the development resources mentioned by me and others last night at the PDXDUG meeting. (Andrew, maybe you can add a link to the module metrics you were talking about).

As we said last night, don't play on your production site; create a dev/sandbox copy where you can wipe everything out if it gets gnarly (and maybe this is obvious, but make sure you're using a different database that the main site too!).

Coder format! or: Make everything Drupal.

In case you don't know, Edward Z. Yang (ezyang) is squashing a lot of bugs in coder_format in the scope of a GHOP task currently.
In case you don't know coder_format, it's a script I wrote some time ago which re-formats one PHP file, or recursively all files in a directory according to Drupal's Coding Standards. Doug Green has been so kind to add it to the Coder module, so if you are a Drupal developer, you probably have (an out-dated version of) it already. Unfortunately, it did not receive that much attention yet.

I do not yet want to promote coder_format with this post. Today, I just want to show you the results of an experiment, which in turn will show you, what you can expect from coder_format.

Guess, what this ugly code snippet is:

Robert Fabian of CIPS on targeting Drupal to developers

Robert Fabian is a management and systems consultant in Canada, who has been in computing for many decades. Robert has been involved with CIPS, the Canadian Information Processing Society for a long time too, and they are moving to Drupal as a platform to manage their 30-odd sites, after evaluating other CMS/CMF systems.

I met Robert at the Ontario Linux Fest in October 2007, and then yesterday at the Drupal Users Group meeting in Toronto.
