Last week, DavidWhite & I created the #drupal-ngo IRC channel on freenode for broad-based discussion of how people can and are using Drupal to support the work of nonprofits and NGO's. The channel has not had much activity yet, other than from the two of us, benjamin-agaric, and bangpound, but it has been approved by chx as of last night, and Morbus Iff has added Druplicon to it.

I am writing this post to extend the invitation to any who are using Drupal for good to join us in the channel sometime. I hope that it can be another place where we can pool our skills and plans.

This is a Test Discussion because I'm new to Drupal and I have no idea how this whole thing works!

The topic says it all - I want us to consider if we might be ready to implement the Human Interface Guidelines into Drupal themes. First and foremost within Drupal core themes and modules.

These guidelines might include:

• Standardized input/output messages
• Layouts of menus
• Menu structures
• help and manuals
• Page layouts
• Semantics
• ....you name'em grandma!

I am willing to dedicate some real time and purpose to such a project. We will need a bit more organization form the top down though. I'm joining a couple of the mailing lists towards that end and i would really like to get the ball rolling on this. I use drupal privately and professionally and both would benefit immensely from this project. While I would love for such a project to be self sustaining (wiki or otherwise) i think it will require some early heavy seeding to get things going. Perhaps integrating "development time frame" as a field into project_issue module would also provide some structure to help make the "feature improvements" process more organic.

Should it be a wiki roadmap, or maintained by one person?
How finegrained do we want to see the roadmap?
Can we facilitate contrib developers with roadmap features?
Do we need a roadmap module?

Hey guys.

I would like us to get together to discuss the design of the courseware for DrupalCamp training. I just wanted to confirm with everyone what would be a good time. I'm leaning towards 2pm vancouver / san francisco time on wednesday the 19th of April 2006.

I'll put up an agenda sometime this weekend.
