Delaware State University is recruiting for a Director of Web Services.
The Director of Web Services will have the principle responsibility to oversee the day to day web and social media presence supporting the University’s brand, goals and communications strategies. The Director of Web Services will be involved in all phases of the web development cycle for the University’s website, including formulating and defining the application scope and objectives as well as incorporating new and emergent web-based communications. The Director works collaboratively with the University’s advancement team to create short and long range plans for website enhancements, improvements and effectiveness. The Director provides strategic direction and leadership for project management, content management, social media, and customer service processes, and provides software selection and support. The position works closely and collaboratively with University marketing as well as with the University’s IT function. The position reports to the VP of Institutional Advancement.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, using oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with content management systems (Drupal is preferred, but not required)
- Demonstrated ability to train others on the use of CMS technology
- Must be willing and able to work and troubleshoot with others on a daily basis
- Expert ability with current web authoring tools
- Expert knowledge of PHP, HTML, XHTML, XML, and CSS coding methods and standards.
- Expert ability with creative media tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, Microsoft Expression Blend, Expression Design, etc.
- Experience in creating apps and editing/designing for social media
- Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with others
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and keep projects on schedule
