Welcome to VANDUG!
The Vancouver Drupal Users Group (VanDUG) is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story.
The group mostly hangs out on Slack at https://vandug.slack.com/. We also post our meetings on Meetup.com at https://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Drupal-Users-Group. All are welcome, it's listed as a private group to keep out the griefers.
We've been holding semi-regular virtual meetings during COVID-19.

WTB Books!
I was just about to order the new Drupal 6 book from Packt and also the Drupal 5 Themes book when I thought, maybe someone in town is done with their old tattered manuals and wouldn't mind parting with them. Is there anyone in Vancouver willing to sell me their copy of those books and/or Drupal Pro Develpment? I'll wait and see, and if not, I'll happily order new copies online. And by the way, I prefer the old fashioned paper variety. :)

FearlessCity - an arts and events portal for the Downtown Eastside - will be the subject of Drupal Camp's codesprint. The event will be held from 6-9pm on Friday at Delicados - 510 West Hastings St.
The site is currently in alpha state and I'm hoping that we can move it to a solid beta state as part of Drupal Camp.
The codesprint will have two foci - the first (for coders) will be to add as many ways for mobile-generated content to reach the site as possible. The other (for themers) will be the creation of a mobile-friendly black-on-white theme for the site.
Two random draws will be held for a membership in the Vancouver Open Network Initiatives Cooperative, including a FreeTheNet.ca wifi mesh node, from amongst all of those participating.
Food will be provided (but you'll be responsible for your own drinks.)

Read moreMy List of Drupal Modules
Hey everyone, I just created a blog post highlighting all of the modules used on my personal website. I'd be interested in hearing some feedback on what everyone else uses. I think this is valuable to beginners and there were quite a few related questions at the last meetup.
Here's my list: http://tylorsherman.com/node/684
Read moreModule idea, looking for collaborators
Hi all,
I had an idea for a new drupal module and I'm wondering if anyone else likes the idea enough to discuss the work involved and perhaps work on it with me. Or someone may know if this already exists and can just point me to the right direction.
- Module synopsis
A module that will export/import a filtered set of supported nodes, with the option to include attachments, comments and revisions. Essentially a node migration module.

Drupal Camp Vancouver has a new home
The rag-tag band of volunteers is steadily working to wrangle Drupal Camp Vancouver into a knowledge-sharing fest of unparalleled fun. First there was an idea, then we chose a date, set up a Drupal Group, now there is a location and finally a website.
Anyhow, this is a notice that DrupalCampVancouver.org is alive and slowly percolating up with the relevant details and useful information including Sponsor info (and checklist), Volunteer info (and <a href=""http://www.drupalcampvancouver.org/organizers">organizer props), and the important Call for Speakers.
'Tis a busy time for all (including many involved with Open Web this week) so volunteers are important to spread the work around. Big thanks to those who've signed on so far. Have a bit of time? Be sure to Contact the organizers to help out (no big deal eh) and see ya at DrupalCampVancouver.org.
