Welcome to VANDUG!
The Vancouver Drupal Users Group (VanDUG) is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story.
The group mostly hangs out on Slack at https://vandug.slack.com/. We also post our meetings on Meetup.com at https://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Drupal-Users-Group. All are welcome, it's listed as a private group to keep out the griefers.
We've been holding semi-regular virtual meetings during COVID-19.

Are you hearing and begining to read all about the semantic web, maybe with Boris wax lyrical about RDFa?

Quick Status Update - March 29
Hey everyone!
A quick status update to let y'all know where we're at.
If you've put your name on the wiki as a volunteer and no one has contact you yet, don't worry, we will!
- We'll soon have a conference website
- Scott Morgan has volunteered to be our t-shirt wrangler
- Mike Cantelon is helping with the website (between Open Web and work commitments)
- We have a money management angel (thanks Raincity!)
- Sponsorship is firming up nicely
- Still trying to get locations 100% nailed down
Interesting discussion with Mack Hardy about barn raising:

I'm a Vancouver web developer who recently settled on Drupal as the CMS for me. Great software, great community. I'm going through a "baptism by fire" of sorts in that I'm using Drupal right away on a new project. My client is high profile and insists on a very short time line. I should have said no can do, but I'm foolishly masochistic about these things.
I need help!
I'm looking for someone who can sit down with me over a laptop and a few coffees and provide a bit of guidance. Just a few hours of your time in the next few weeks would be awesome. I can pay.

Are you interested in video on the web and looking for a project to hone your skills? Do you want to raise your karma and your profile in the Drupal community?
Every month Roland and I try to live video stream and record the monthly meetings, but we need help! If you're looking for an opportunity to try out video recording, audio recording, or live streaming, let us know. We aren't looking for fancy, and there doesn't have to be a lot of equipment involved. If you have a current generation Macintosh notebook and an Eye Sight camera, you can help! In fact, we need someone to live stream the Thursday March 26th meeting.
We'd also like to explore student sponsorship opportunities. If you know someone in the local video and/or educational community who could help, please introduce us!

The hounds of Drupal Camp Vancouver are unleashed and the event is already generating great interest. Along with Ariane and Dale, we've formed an organizing committee to kick things off and now encourage you to earn your Drupal community stripes by helping out.
Here's how:
- Join this Drupal Camp Vancouver group - easy right
- Blog about the event, tell your friends, tell your spouse you won't be home cause you are geeking out
- Choose a task to head up or assist with (note your choice and skillz on the wiki)
- Encourage your boss to sponsor Drupal Camp Vancouver (pledge your support on wiki) - if you are a boss, go directly to wiki and kick down some cash and encourage your wisest employees to sign-up and present when the time comes
Note: We do need some sponsorship scratch to pay space deposits etc. so if you are convinced of the benefits of sponsorship and are ready to write a cheque, please contact my organizing colleague, Dale or Ariane. {Special Thanks to the early signers of the declaration Social Signal, Affinity Bridge, Raincity Studios, happyfrog.ca, Strutta ...} Someone ping Sun and ask for money too please.
I am leaving to Mexico for vacation funtimes in about an hour so try not to break the Interwebs while i am gone ;-) Go Drupal Campers! and thanks for your support.
