UPDATE: Lacking a presentation about Theming, I'm encouraging everyone to bring laptops and questions and we'll try doing a massive support session for part of the night

Last month's meetup went great. We had a good size crowd. Even after scaling back the agenda, we still had too much Drupal to fit into 2 hrs! Let's keep up the great work!

This month we are going to try focusing on Theming. We will also be talking about the upcoming DrupalCamp Australia. We will be aiming to take better advantage of the balcony this month, so please bring your drinks + snacks!

When: Thursday, October 16th
Time: 7pm - 9pm (Show up around 6:45!!)
Venue: ABC Centre 700 Harris Street, Ultimo ( Map | Directions )

The ABC Centre has some security issues, so it is important that people arrive early and sign in at the security desk so that James can take everyone into the building at once. Everyone just waits and chats in the lobby, so just look around for us if you're new. If you have problems you can call either of us. Many thanks go to the ABC for providing this venue.

Agenda:

  • Greetings and Welcome new people + Announcements
  • Site Showcase by: Paco
This will very briefly present a recently launched Drupal site and some of the behind the scenes on how it was created
  • Module Highlight - TBA
A short presentation to highlight a module someone has tried and their experience with it.
  • Support Session bring your laptops and question!
  • Break (on the balcony)
  • DrupalCamp Discussion by: Ryan Cross
We will be discussing and organizing some of the details of the DrupalCamp Australia that will be held on the 18th and also getting some feedback from any interested attendees
  • General help/Discussion + Drinks/food

Post below if you can talk about something (anything is ok, everyone has something to share) or if you're are interested in other topics for discussion.

Remember to sign up, and I'll send out a reminder announcement a day before the meeting with all the latest details. This will also help us plan numbers/audience.

Broken Link for Signup?

jehnich's picture

I tried to sign up at http://groups.drupal.org/%2523signup, but get a "Page not found".

Bug?

rcross's picture

The reason is because I posted the link as relative to the page, so when it goes out through the email it gets lost. If you try the link from the page it should work - all it does is jump to the end of the post, where you click on the sign up button. It was a bit of an experiment =)

Updated Agenda

rcross's picture

Since I haven't been successful in getting someone to present about anything Theming related, I'm going to change the agenda a bit and we'll aim to have a big support session. So, everyone should bring their laptops, bring their questions, be ready to help your neighbor, and something to drink the drupal kool-aid with!
