#drupal-au IRC in your favourite web browser (as long as it's firefox)
When I mentioned the #drupal-au IRC channel to a work buddy, he didn't believe that people still used IRC as it's too old. I guess IRC clients are not as prevalent now that we have so many different channels, social networking sites, SMS and Chat clients at our fingertips.
I'm on a Mac and I still haven't worked out what IRC client to use but lucky for me there is good one that plugs into Firefox. Do a search for in your addons for Chatzilla. It's easy to use and will get you chatting to Drupal devs right away. Ask anything anytime Drupal related and you probably get a helpful answer.
When Chatzilla opens click on freenode and then type /join #drupal-au.
See you there!

PS: there's lots of good IRC clients on Mac. Colloquy is the most common, I suspect, but it's a touch on the bloaty side. I've also tried LimeChat, which seems nice and fast.... But I'm lazy, and Colloquy is already setup.
