I am open to getting together tonight if anyone is interested.
Hi All,
I didn't post a formal meetup tonight after we didn't get much discussion going, and I've been a bit preoccupied.
That said, I am totally open to getting together tonight to hang out, talk Drupal, and possibly talk about planning the future of our meetups. Just let me know if anyone is interested, and we'll be there!

Looking for a tutor
Hello all,
I'm learning Drupal and I have some questions, I'd love to hire a tutor if anyone is interested. I work during business hours so I would need you evenings or weekends.
Thanks in advance!

I meant to post this earlier, sorry for the late notice. Some of the discussion is revolving around use of Drupal in government, and NASA - with Houston having both Drupal and NASA activities :) I'm trying to do my best to properly represent our HDUG.

Odd: "Exclude from Display" in View excludes the rendering of the value in later Custom Text field
I thought this was strange: I am using D6 Views 2, I have selected a fistful of fields that don't render if I check "Exclude from Display" in Custom Text field:
I want to include their output in a Global: Custom text field as:

[field_event_icon_fid]
[title]

[field_event_icon_fid]
[field_event_description_value]

As a workaround, I have unchecked Exclude from Display and am having to css them out. Read more
Administer User permission may be a deal breaker for my Drupal install
I have been searching high and low. Been trying a multitude of modules. I do not understand why a CMS as robust as Drupal 6 only has the ability to let users either administer all users or not administer all users. Why in the world I can not set a few user roles and set what other roles they can administer. Lets say we have the anonymous user, authenticated user, writer, editor, and site administrator. Why in the world can I not make it so that an editor can create, edit, and delete a writer without giving him the permission to create, edit and delete, all the administrators as well.

Suggestions for a Calendar for Events -
Okay being the Drupal NOOB here - I am curious what module would be best for a Calendar Events - I am currently working on a Deaf Awareness Month Site for Houston utilizing Drupal. And in September we will be having a month long different events hosted by different organizations and etc. So I see there is like 4-5 different ones, so wanted some feedbacks on which Calendar/Event module would be best suited for this. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you!
<Warning - this is my first Drupal project I am working on - so hopefully it won't be so painful! :) >
