Continuing the "Drupal 8 for Newbies" series: this month, we'll explore how to write Drupal 8 modules. This will be a hands-on session, not a training presentation -- so bring your laptop with Drupal 8 installed, and we'll explore the topic together.
We'll examine what's changed in D8, how to organize your code, and resources for learning more. We're generally working from the process as described at https://www.drupal.org/developing/modules/8.

Central Denver January Meetup: Tuesday, January 26, 2016
To kick off 2016, we have Michael Lander talking about using Paragraphs module as an alternative to Panels and Display Suite for page building. He’ll cover the initial module configuration, and transition to more of a philosophical approach to page building and the flexibility this approach provides.
- How this approach gives clients more power to construct new landing pages, while restricting them to clearly defined components.
- The benefits of using Paragraphs over Inline Entity Form for page building.
Boulder Drupal Meetup
This month we are going to delve a bit into Drupal 8 and look at Views. Views is now included in Drupal core and is a part of many of the administration pages. We will look at some of the things we can do to these pages to make things a bit easier to maintain.

Historically the December meetup has led to very interesting discussions on a variety of topics (not always Drupal related).

It has been announced that Drupal8 is going to be released on November 19th. With that raises the questions of when does support for Drupal 6 stop (hint: May 19) as well as when should I upgrade?
Kevin Crafts and Kevin Reynen from CU are going to come out and tell let us in on how CU is evaluating the state of D8, exploring alternatives like Backdrop and Sculpin, and the changes they are making to their current D7 distribution to prepare for an inevitable change.

Last month, we got sidetracked into how to update Drupal 8, which brought us all up to the new D8 release candidate. So this month we'll explore site building in D8. We'll go through adding content, defining content types, and the like -- all along discovering what's new in D8.
This is a hand-on working session, in which we'll explore D8 together. So bring your laptops, and come dive in!
