Jerad Bitner (aka sirkitree around here) has generously offered to come to Houston and give us a presentation (because he's awesome). This is a great opportunity to learn from one of Drupal's best and brightest, so please make sure to be there.

Jerad's a Lullabot, so please also remember to congratulate him on their awesome redesign. :)

Also, I have set up a chipin page if anyone would like to contribute to the hotel room fund for our out-of-town guest. Much appreciated!

Best way to submit inputs....

Okay, I have someone that wants me to build a fairly simple site for them. The only issue is we have gone from a simple "email" of information to actually having to input into an insurance database.

The site will be for an insurance agent and the main company doesn't want client data outside their control.

What the customer wants is a way for their customers to input data onto the site and have this information generate an email to them.

But what they have described to me is that this inputting of information needs to interface with a database outside the hosting service.

Authorize.net or other gateways for Ubercart

I have set up a few sites with authorize.net, but in each instance, the client has given me the keys/info, and I never dealt with the actual authorize.net net setup.

Can someone speak of his experience from a vendor's perspective as to what is really involved? I think you don't buy straight from auth.net but rather through a reseller-- how does one go about selecting "the right vendor?" What about costs? What other payment gateways have you used with Ubercart?

Thanks
-Bronius

MongoDB

Per our discussion of MongoDB last night (discussing the DrupalCon session covering the topic), it slipped my mind that there is an article about MongoDB in the upcoming Linux Journal, June 2010. I even had a copy in my bag I could have passed around. :-/

I will bring it next time though! It should be on newsstands soon too. ;)
