Need custom module
Next Meetup?
I hope everyone is having a great summer. Just wondering when the next meetup would be, and who we could drag in this time to speak.
Here are some things I'd like to hear someone talk about:
- Using hooks
- Drush
- Simple Module Development
- Geo Location
- Mobile Development
Have a great weekend.

Read moreHas anybody had any experience with the Location module?
Hi everyone,
I am running into some problems using Location module with Views to create a proximity search. Does anybody have experience with doing this?
I'm using the Location module 7.x-3.x-dev with Views 7.x-3.0-rc1.
I have opened an issue under Location module if you want to see a more detailed report: http://drupal.org/node/1230072
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Hello London Drupalers.
My name is Anne Stefanyk and I work with a team of Drupal Trainers to provide in person FUN Drupal Training from the West to the East coasts of Canada.
I am posting in groups to gauge interest in running Drupal training in London. We recently ran Drupal Training in Toronto and it was a hit! We actually had quite a few London folk come to the training and since reach out for more training! As we need a min number of people to run the sessions I thought I would post a note in Groups to see if we can get the min numbers to come and learn more DRUPAL.

Image Slider Question
Hello. I have some web development experience but fairly new to Drupal.
How do I create an image slider of my "Featured" Content using EasySlider 1.1.7 and Views?
I setup JQuery-EasySlider on my homepage template page--front.tpl.php and hardcoded some image links, something like below:
<?php
drupal_add_js('jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery("#slider").easySlider({
auto: true,
continuous: true
});
});','inline');
?><
div id="slider">
<
ul>

print $directory;
?>/images/01.jpg" alt="" />Intro to Drupal Session
I am willing to run an intro to Drupal session in our boardroom in the near future.
Please comment on this thread if you are interested in attending -
I will then post an eventbrite event outlining a date/time that hopefully works for everyone.

Well I did it. I finally published my first Drupal site. I am fishing for some reassurance that it is not bad for a rookie. I am not a PHP coder, but understand it some since I can code a bit in VBA and ASP.
Roughly 160 modules (!), including Ubercart.Hosted on Hot Drupal. This is a low volume site for my in-laws family business--very niche. Yes rock gardening fanatics readily buy their plants online/mailorder and have them shipped in a box.

Not sure if I speak for more of the LonDug people, but one of my favourite things is learning new things about Drupal. I think a huge benefit to this group will be the knowledge sharing aspect.
I can't remember all the sticky notes that were on the windows, but here are a few things I would like to learn from some of the more advanced users:
- Module Development (the use of hooks, and some of the higher end programming required to write a custom module)
- Mobile sites and applications
- Site Optimization and caching for better performance
Am I ready to go live? Probably
Hi all.
Feel free to jump in on this forum topic I just posted at http://drupal.org/node/1130990. Of course, any and all opinions appreciated.

At the LonDUG Kickstart meeting there was a lot of interest in LonDUG contributing to the broader London community with a Design/Development project of some kind. Let's use this thread to toss in some ideas about what is needed in our community and how we might build a great project that showcases and builds LonDUG member skills, helps the London non-profit community, and raises awareness of LonDUG.
Brainstorm away... Ideas of all sizes and types are welcome!

We really need some ideas for our meeting space -
Ideally we can utilize different spaces depending on what type of meeting we are running.
Ability to have a wireless access and power for laptops is ideal.
Read moreNo meetup in March...
Hi everyone. Martin asked me to pull together the March meet-up this Thursday, but unfortunately I won't be able to attend myself.
My gut feeling is to cancel this month's meeting, unless someone else wants to jump in with a topic, and then reboot the LonDUG for the April meeting with a fresh topic and shout-out to the membership.
Thoughts and comments on this? Keen volunteers? Alternative plans?
Cheers;
Dan

Hi Ontario Drupalers;
I'm considering studying up and taking the Zend PHP (ZCE) Certification courses and writing the exam, both as a way to learn PHP at a more serious level, and as a useful certification to have for career purposes. (See: http://www.zend.com/services/certification/)

It's that time again! As discussed all the way back in September, our next meeting will be a discussion about ecommerce options in Drupal, particularly Ubercart but feel free to share other experiences. We'll also talk about payment processing and shipping options, as they pertain to those of us in the Great White North.
Finally, we had strong representation from the Forest City at last month's DrupalCamp Toronto, so let's have a shared download about the experience.
I hope you can make it out, it promises to be a good session!
