Hi Everyone,
I am trying to build a theme from a base theme. I am currently using Zen as my base theme. I just came across Fusion and would like to hear from your experience, on flexibility, of both Zen and Fusion.

Comments

Hi both are equally flexible

Hi

both are equally flexible and they're both very good base themes.

Zen is more of a do-it-all-yourself base theme (even though it has some integrated theme settings), while Fusion is very interesting for its elaborate configurability through the theme settings form.

If you want to tweak as much as possible without diving into template files and css, Fusion is for you. If you want full manual control of your theme's layout and visual appearance, I'd say Zen is a better option.

Joeri, thanks for the input. I will, then, continue to tweak around with Zen. Hope this will get my hands a bit dirty with theming.

Thnx.

Regarding to a theme you want

Regarding to a theme you want to build you could try some of Grid themes, like Zen 960 http://drupal.org/project/zen_ninesixty.

Maybe this one would be pretty too. Ofcourse if you'll try to build grid-like theme.

Anyway, Zen is one of the most useful startkits for me. Fusion little bit harder if you are trying it first time.

Adaptivetheme for Mobile

Adaptivetheme 7.x-2.x is a superb theme for mobile. It does responsive and adaptive layouts with easy point-and-click configuration. It's powerful, yet it's the easiest responsive theme by far. Very flexible and standard compliant. Good accessibility too!
